An election is taking place to elect a Common Councillor for the Ward of Aldersgate, following the resignation of Richard Crossan.

A Wardmote will take place on Tuesday 12 November 2019 at 6.30pm at Ironmonger's Hall, Shaftesbury Place, Barbican, London, EC2Y 8AA at which voters in the Aldersgate Ward are invited to attend. The candidates at this election will have the opportunity to address the meeting and voters can ask the candidates questions.

The poll will take place on Wednesday 13 November 2019.

The deadline for receiving applications for registration, if not already registered, is midnight Tuesday 26 November 2019.

Register to vote

To vote in this election you must be a British citizen, a citizen of the Republic of Ireland, or a Commonwealth citizen. You must live in the UK, or be a British citizen abroad who has been registered to vote in the last 15 years and is a registered Overseas Elector. You must be 18 years of age or over on polling day.

The deadline for receiving new postal vote and postal proxy vote applications, and for changes to existing postal or proxy votes is 5pm Tuesday 26 November 2019.

The deadline for receiving new applications to vote by proxy (not postal proxy or emergency proxies) is 5pm Wednesday 4 December 2019. A proxy is a person who votes on the voter's behalf. The proxy must be an eligible elector at this election.
