Commonwealth business forum

We are pleased to partner with the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council to deliver the Commonwealth Business Forum (CBF), supported by the UK Government and taking place in London on 16-18 April 2018.

For the first time since 1997, the UK will host Commonwealth leaders for the 25th Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting; representing the interests of over 2.4 billion people. The Commonwealth Business Forum will convene in the days before CHOGM, bringing together 800 senior business and Government leaders, providing a unique platform for dialogue between a range of industries and economies.

This is a truly unique and historic opportunity to promote and celebrate the very best of the Commonwealth to a global audience.

The Commonwealth is the perfect network for business, with a combined population of 2.4 billion people, 60% of whom are under the age of 30.

Intra-Commonwealth trade was estimated to be $525 billion in 2015 and is projected to surpass $1 trillion by 2020. It is estimated that the shared values, regulatory systems and language, makes trade costs on average 19% lower between Commonwealth countries. This is referred to as the Commonwealth Factor.

The forum is an integral part of the CHOGM and brings together businesses critical to trade and investment leadership with Government to debate the issues facing their countries in 2018 and beyond.

We look forward to welcoming senior business and global leaders to the City of London at this landmark event. Trade and investment is a vital conduit to jobs, growth and prosperity. CBF 2018 will bring together these actors to address how the private and public sectors can cooperate to support the Commonwealth’s ambitious growth objectives.

CBF 2018 will comprise some 40 thematic sessions, with nearly 300 speakers and guests from the four corners of the Commonwealth. Participants will discuss The Business of Trust; Investing in the UK; Innovation in Infrastructure; Green Finance; Financial and Professional Services and Fintech; Innovation in Financial Services and Cyber Security, and a whole lot more - this is a key opportunity to focus on the issues impacting business in the Commonwealth.
