Rewarding good practice

    Lord Mayor's Dragon awards

The Lord Mayor's Dragon Awards are back for the 29th year! So start gathering your impact statistics, inspirational quotes and endorsements!

The Awards, which recognise and celebrate organisations making an exemplary impact across London's communities, will open for applications on 1 March 2016. Don't miss your chance to highlight the good work that you or an organisation that you know have achieved!

Why apply?

The Lord Mayor's Dragon Awards are a unique opportunity to showcase your London focused community programmes with clients, internal stakeholders, competitors and suppliers. The Awards are relevant and accessible for businesses and community groups of all sizes, assessing achievements in relation to an organisation's size and resources. Applicants will be provided with tailored feedback on their application which will enable benchmarking and provide expert advice on their programmes in preparation for future Award schemes. The icing on the cake is an invitation to the annual celebration dinner hosted by the Lord Mayor at Mansion House, providing a unique networking opportunity for all applicants.

Taking the first steps

Aspiring applicants can prepare for the Awards in the following ways:

Support for aspiring applicants

We want you to put your best foot forward, so there is plenty of help on hand. We will be hosting a breakfast workshop where you will receive guidance on your application, hear from a previous winner and receive tips from one of this year's preliminary judges. The event takes place on Wednesday 6 April at 8.45am and will be held at The City Centre, London, EC2V 5AR. Sign up to attend.

If your organisation applied for an Award in 2015 and was unsuccessful, in addition to attending the applicant workshop you can get in touch for a reminder of judges' feedback.

Nominate an outstanding organisation

The Lord Mayor's Dragon Awards recognise best practice in community engagement. If you're inspired by the work of your partners, suppliers, investors or any organisation big or small that is doing great things in London, let them know their work hasn't gone unnoticed. You can do this by emailing your nomination to - we'll be happy to make contact and encourage them to apply. You can also let the organisation know about the Awards yourself or apply for an Award on their behalf - be sure to get their permission first.

Best wishes and good luck!
