Every year, the City of London Corporation helps thousands of young people get a taste of working life in the City.

Projects under the City's Raising Aspirations theme support pupils from the boroughs neighbouring the City through a range of activities including; work experience, tours of City firms and interview support.

We also sponsor or co-sponsor Academies in three of our neighbouring boroughs.

Future First is looking for City workers like you, who attended secondary schools across the UK to sign up to support their old schools and we’re particularly looking for former students of schools in the neighbouring boroughs of Southwark, Lambeth, Camden, Islington, Westminster and Tower Hamlets. Nearly 50% of the most disadvantaged young people say they do not know anyone in a job they would like to do – this project connects them with people in jobs who can inspire them to aim high. As well as making a crucial difference to the young people they worked with, 87% of volunteers taking part in Future First’s Employers Programme last year found that taking part enhanced their own job satisfaction and motivation.
