History

The site of Cleary Garden has a rich history as a site of a Roman bathhouse with the garden you see today formed from remains and exposed cellars of the buildings that stood on the site prior to WWII.

The garden is named after Fred Cleary, who, during the 1970's was instrumental in encouraging the planting of trees and the creation of new gardens throughout the Square Mile.
