To celebrate the arrival of the UEFA EURO 2020 European Football Championship in London, London Metropolitan Archives presents this outdoor exhibition exploring the history of the beautiful game in the capital, from Sunday morning drama at Hackney Marshes to cup final glory at Wembley Stadium.

Presenting historical photographs, prints and maps from their collections, Football - A Capital Game reveals some of the personalities and events that shaped the development of the game in the city, including raucous games of medieval "folk football’, the first known women’s team in the capital and a long-forgotten cup final.
