    ​In May 1988 Section 28 was passed into law as part of the Local Government Bill. It became illegal for local authorities to 'promote homosexuality’ and homosexuality was described as a ‘pretend family relationship’. Thirty years on discover the impact of Section 28 and how it was resisted over many years.
