City Corporation to launch new Covid-19 Recovery Grant Scheme for Square Mile SMEs

Pop Up London is a free festival of family-friendly performances taking place across central London during the October half-term. As part of the Greater London Authority's Let’s Do London campaign to encourage visitors back into the heart of our city and support jobs, Pop Up London will see over 200 artists performing in public spaces including the City of London. The capital’s rich cultural diversity will be celebrated with Brazilian drumming, Cantonese story-telling and Caribbean steelpans, alongside performances that explore themes of climate change, the digital age and gender stereotypes.

Wig Out 

Make and decorate your own cardboard wig in this family-friendly workshop with Drag Queen Storytime. Little participants will be encouraged to create a beautiful wig before donning their creation and settling down for a story with a Drag Queen. The activity is accessible to all and is a celebration of the diversity of London’s communities and promotes tolerance and freedom of expression through creativity.

ArtPer UK

An incredible and unique experience to see a real and traditional Peruvian LatinFolk Dance Performance in a flashmob. Londoners and visitors alike can follow the dance moves to enjoy and feel the Peruvian vibes. ArtPer UK use heritage and dance to show how people from different backgrounds can be united by the art of dance as one big community in London and keep traditions alive

Great British Mysteries

Great British Mysteries’ is a character comedy show which has enjoyed two sold-out runs at Edinburgh Fringe and a transfer to London's Soho Theatre. This whimsical, easily accessible, comedy show puts a crooked magnifying to Britain’s numerous monsters, myths and legends. For Pop Up London, Top 10 British Mysteries will be presented, with a particular slant towards London’s haunted past… The Princes in The Tower, Jack the Ripper and Elizabeth I will all feature. This is a highly energetic, bite-size chunk of historical character comedy from an established act with a track record that includes a Dave Comedy Award and numerous appearances on BBC Radio 4.

Puppets with Guts by The Lips

The Lips is a joyful big puppet singalong experience starring three giant pairs of Lips who have broken free from their bodies! This engaging big pop-puppetry performance designed to be performed outdoors appeals to people of all ages - giant puppets lip-syncing extracts from well-known songs along with synchronised choreography. Joyful and surreal, The Lips show combines visual spectacle, dancing puppeteers and an awesome playlist that brings people of all backgrounds together through the unifying effect of popular music. From Bowie to Beyonce, there’s a trailblazing track for everyone.
