The City of London Corporation supports humanitarian aid in Ukraine

Join in the excitement as the Queen’s Baton Relay comes to the heart of the City after its journey through all 72 Commonwealth nations and territories.

In the run-up to this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, this free event will offer a range of fun sporting and cultural activities for all the family at Paternoster Square, next to St Paul’s Cathedral.

Pose for pictures with the baton, watch sportsmen and women do their thing, and try out a Commonwealth Games sport for yourself, including basketball with the London Lions – the capital’s only pro basketball team – and table tennis with sports charity Greenhouse Sports.

Watch amazing street theatre, including Doubles – a stunning collision of dance and table tennis – and the Bureau of Silly Ideas’ Shirt and Squirt static bicycle challenge, while enjoying delicious sweet and savoury street food from Urban Food Fest.

Don’t forget to join the baton as it makes its way from Blackfriars Pier at 12.15 to Paternoster Square, in the heart of the City. Carrying the Baton will be Olympic runner Katie Snowden, badminton pioneer Henry Palton-Gaspard and community gardening guru Nathan Oley.

The event is running during the long Bank Holiday weekend of celebrations to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
