Work experience and internships

The City Corporation recognises that there are a number of reasons for people seeking work experience and offers several placement types.


An apprenticeship at the City of London will allow you to undertake a real job, with real work. At the same time you will complete a fully paid for training course, appropriate to apprenticeship you undertake.

If you would like to gain vocational experience, boost your skills, achieve a qualification and get paid at the same time an apprenticeship could be the choice for you!

It’s a real job, undertaking real work. It will provide you with a range of experience and opportunities that can help aid you with your future career.

2.How long would an apprenticeship last?

All apprenticeships will last for a minimum of 12 months, though some apprenticeships will take longer to complete.

3.What age do I need to be to be eligible to apply?

You can be any age to be eligible to apply for an apprenticeship at the City of London.

4.What salary will I receive as a new apprentice at the City of London?

Level 2 apprenticeships £17,800

Level 3 apprenticeships £18,160
