What services does the revenues self service facility include?

This facility covers City of London Corporation council tax and business rates services only. You will be able to view your account details online and search for the current council tax band or rateable value of all properties within the City of London. ​

If your council tax or business rates account has already been closed , for security reasons, you will not be able to register that account for the self service facility.

 

How do I register to use the revenues self service facility?

  • Firstly you will need to register for self service
  • During registration you will need to enter your contact details, and create a username and password.
  • Your password must be at least eight characters long, including a mixture of upper and lower case letters and one number/special character (such as @, ?, %)
  • You will also need to give a security question and answer
  • Once you have completed your registration, you will be sent an email to validate your email address
  • Click on the link in the email to be taken to the login screen

Before you can access your account details online you will need to request a personal identification number (PIN) for each of your council tax, or business rates, accounts you wish to view online.

Please note that you only have to register once. If you have more than one account, you simply have to request a PIN for each one.

How do I get a personal identification number (PIN)?

Once you are registered for self service you can request your PIN. Please follow the instructions below.

Requesting your PIN

  • Log in to self service
  • Select the council tax or business rates service
  • Enter your council tax or business rates account reference number
  • Click 'send me a PIN'
  • The PIN will normally be posted within five working days and it will be sent to the postal address recorded on the council tax or business rates records.

 Activating your PIN

  • Log in to self service
  • Select the council tax or business rates service
  • Enter your council tax or business rates account reference
  • Click 'enter your PIN'
  • Enter the PIN sent to you and click 'confirm'
  • You will now have access to view your details

The City of London Corporation and Liberata UK Ltd will never ask you for your PIN. You are also advised that staff are instructed not to give a PIN over the telephone or via email.

If you have forgotten your PIN please log in to revenues self service and follow the instructions for 'requesting and activating your PIN' shown above.

What do I do if I have forgotten my password or username?

If you have forgotten your username or password you can be obtain them automatically by following the instructions  below:

Forgotten username

  • go to the self service login page
  • Click 'I forgot my username' 
  • enter your registered self service email address
  • you will then receive an email confirming your username

 Forgotten password

  • go to the self service login page
  • Click 'I forgot my password' 
  • once you have correctly answered the security question you will receive an email with a special link that will enable you to reset your password
  • Click on the link in the email received and follow the instructions to reset your password

For security reasons you cannot reset the answer to your 'security question' online.

Can I register to view more than one council tax or business rates account?

You can register to view as many of your accounts as you wish. Once your self service account is activated you can request a PIN for each of your council tax or business rates accounts.

If you no longer wish to view an account online you can also deactivate it, (remember if you do this you will need the PIN to reactivate it at a later date).

I am jointly liable to pay my bill with my partner or other people. Can we all register for self service?

Yes. Each of you can register for self service but you will each have to register using a different email address.
You will also need to obtain the PIN for the council tax or business rates account you wish to link to self service.

How up to date is the information provided on the revenues self service facility?

The system information is provided in real time so please note that the council tax or business rates summary will not take into account any amendments pending.  The information applies to the quoted account number only.​

What if my registered details change, for example my email address?

To continue using the service you should update us with any changes in your registration details.

Please log on to the self service facility and click on the “my profiles” button where you will be able to update your personal details.  You will be asked to verify any change using your security question/answer.
