The Senior Coroner for the City is appointed by the City of London to investigate deaths reported to her and cases of treasure that is found. She has two assistant coroners, with the same powers. All are lawyers, though one assistant also has a medical qualification.

Out of hours and reporting a sudden or suspicious death

If there is an accident, or a body is discovered, contact the City of London Police on 020 7601 2222.

Registering a death

The City of London does not have this facility and has an arrangement with the London Borough of Islington to use its services.
