Births, deaths, and marriages and civil partnerships are handled by Islington Council on behalf of the City of London Corporation.

Copies of certificates can be ordered from the General Register Office.

Registering a birth or death

In order to register a birth or death you need to book an appointment with the Islington Registrar. Appointments can be made online:

​The Islington Registrar for births, deaths and marriages is open Monday to Friday 9am-4.30pm and is located at:

In the case of a death, you can get a walk-in appointment at Islington Town Hall before 4.30pm.
