The aim of the course is for you to gain an understanding of the basic role of bookkeeping within different types of organisations, and to know and understand the basic terminology in bookkeeping. This course is designed for anyone who wants to explore the world of finance and requires no prior experience. It will include completion of financial documents, recording cash and credit transactions in books of prime/original entry, preparing bank reconciliation, petty cash impress system and extracting trial balance from ledger accounts.

The purpose of the AAT Advanced Certificate in Bookkeeping is to ensure that students have the advanced bookkeeping skills necessary to work in a bookkeeping role or to progress to higher-level accountancy. Students will gain the knowledge and skills needed to carry out advanced bookkeeping transactions and tasks in three mandatory units.

  • Advanced Bookkeeping
  • Final Accounts Preparation
  • Indirect Tax

A student completing this qualification will understand advanced bookkeeping principles and concepts, preparation of financial statements for sole traders and partnerships, and issues around indirect tax (VAT in the UK) in business. All of this will be learnt in the context of the ethical issues that a bookkeeper may encounter in their professional life.

On the successful completion of this qualification, you will have achieved all requirements for the Level Two Certificate in Principles of Business and Administration by developing your knowledge and understanding of everyday and complex administrative tasks such as managing information and supporting events. You would have also gained an understanding of project management, innovation and change in the business environment. No joining qualification is required.

This qualification will prepare you for junior and entry-level accounting roles. It delivers a solid foundation in finance administration - covering areas such as double-entry bookkeeping to basic costing principles and using accounting software.

You will learn finance, accountancy, business and communications skills. No joining qualification is required.

This 11-week course is a general introduction to using a computer and is designed for complete beginners and near beginners. We will cover the basics of using a computer, keyboard and mouse. You will also learn the basics of accessing the Internet, surfing the Web, searching for information, using email and will help you to create simple Word and Excel documents.

For Food Hygiene Level one it is absolutely essential that anyone who works where food is made, sold or served has a good understanding of food hygiene and knows how to handle consumables properly. This course covers all the basics and it is IOSH approved for your reassurance.

Food safety and hygiene level two training is a legal requirement for anybody who regularly handles food - whether during production, preparation or sale. Our course is IOSH approved and CPD accredited and provides certificates upon completion.

This course is in three terms that can be taken individually or for the full year, depending on the level of the learner. In the first term, learners will be introduced to the basics of using Word and Excel spreadsheets, gaining additional skills and experience in each term. You'll learn essential word processing skills including basic letter and document production, layout, formatting, saving and printing. You will also learn how to use Microsoft Excel to produce simple spreadsheet tables, manipulate data and work with lists. Learners should have some experience of using computers but require no experience of Word or Excel for the first term, but as each term progresses learners who are beginners cannot join later terms.

This qualification is suitable for learners aged 16 and above. This professional qualification provides the underpinning knowledge required by employees to work in a range of customer service roles. Learners will have essential knowledge of how to carry out tasks such as managing information and supporting events. This qualification is suitable for use within all business sectors. The successful completion will allow for progression to higher professional levels.

This is an entry-level course – no joining qualification is needed.

This course is designed to provide you with the skills you will need to impress employers for the labour market. You will be able to plan your own career by understanding how to create your career plan, and how to identify what career will be the realistic choice for you by taking some assessments with your tutor’s guidance. You will be able to identify the different routes into work, what it takes and what you will be doing on the job, industry employers and how to locate current suitable vacancies and virtual jobs fair. Most importantly you will be able to improve your employability skills which will include drafting chronological and skilled-based CVs, writing an effective cover letter, filling application forms and preparing for a job interview. This will also include mock interviews arranged with experienced HR staff and you will get feedback on how you have performed and what you can improve to pursue your ultimate career.
