This Level 1 AAT book-keeping qualification introduces you to the role of a bookkeeper as well as simple bookkeeping techniques. You do not need any prior accounting knowledge to join this course. The course will give you a practical and solid grounding and enable you to progress to a Level 2 qualification. The autumn/spring course will meet for 10 weeks from 20/09/2023 to 29/11/2023 and will then continue for a further three weeks for revision and exam between 10/01/2024 and 24/01/2024.

This one-term course is a general introduction to using a computer and is designed for complete beginners and near beginners. We will cover the basics of using a computer, keyboard and mouse. You will also learn the basics of accessing the internet, surfing the web, searching for information, using email and will help you to create simple Word and Excel documents. Progress from here to the Essential Digital Skills qualification at Entry 3.

On this practical course you will learn how to keep your computer's operating system and applications up to date; how to use appropriate techniques to carry out and refine searches and become aware that results are ranked by search engines. You will learn how to organise and store information to enable efficient information retrieval on a device and across devices. You will identify and apply solutions to common technical problems, using online tutorials, FAQs and help facilities. You will identify and use appropriate online learning resources to maintain and improve digital skills.

Develop the skills needed for the modern workplace. Our traineeship for people aged 16-24 combines digital, administration and employability training with a high-quality work placement with real responsibilities leading to a guaranteed interview once you are job-ready.
Alongside CV writing skills and interview techniques, you will learn about various essential workplace skills including maintaining documents, data security, antivirus and malware, cybercrime, and staying safe online. Once you have finished all the modules, you will complete a minimum one-week work experience placement with a respected employer and be ready to enter employment. You will gain a Level Two Certificate in Digital Skills for Work as well as a Level One Award in Employability Skills.

If you work or volunteer in a role that involves or supervises the handling or preparation of food you will need to gain this level one and two qualification.
The Level 1 course is for people who work where food is produced, prepared or served or for people who only work with packaged or low risk food and drink or food that is not ‘ready to eat’.
The Level 2 certificate is for people working in Catering, Retail, Manufacturing or those that work with food which is ‘ready to eat'.

To provide candidates with an appreciation of the fundamentals of first aid for anyone who may be left in charge of low risk premises and therefore may be required to administer First Aid.
Course Content: Care of unconscious, Resuscitation/AED, Shock, Choking, Heart Attack, Epilepsy, Control of bleeding, Burns and scalds, First Aid Boxes, Accidents and investigations.
The course includes lectures enhanced by audio/visual material and practical teaching aids. Delegates are encouraged to actively participate in discussion sessions and group activities.
Successful candidates receive an accredited certificate which is valid for three years.

To be eligible for funding on our free courses you should be a UK national or an EEA national with pre-settled or settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme and have been resident in the UK/EEA for the past three years. Proof may be required, more information about this is on the enrolment form.
