This course is designed to help students develop listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, as well as learn about French culture and traditions. At the end of the term, students will be able to communicate on a variety of topics using concrete vocabulary and basic grammatical structures to enjoy a short holiday in France or to make the right impression with French-speaking business clients.

French improvers course term 1:

Students will already know how to:

  •  Give directions ( left, right, straight on)
  •  Know some body parts
  •  Have a basic understanding of the present tense and the passé compose (conjugate regular verbs)
  •  Give a basic biography ( my name is, I come from, I am married…)
  •  Ask questions (where, when, how, who, what)
  •  Count to 1 million
  •  Polite introductions
  •  Express like and dislike
  •  Prepositions (in, on, under…)
  •  Weather
  •  Order food, book in a hotel
  •  Colours
  •  Describe things (adjectives)

We will go over these subjects at the start of the course and improve on them, as well as introduce new subjects such as the future, and improve fluency.

Spanish

Topics covered will include exchanging personal information, ordering food and drink, requesting information, booking a room in a hotel and shopping.

Students will learn the vocabulary and structure needed
to cope with situations or experiences when visiting a
Spanish-speaking country.
