The Access Team promotes inclusive design principles and provides professional advice to ensure that buildings and the external environment meet the access needs of everyone, including disabled people.

Advice on statutory access requirements, access legislation and technical design standards are available in Designing an Accessible City along with factsheets on various access issues.

The City of London Access Group

When considering access improvements the City Corporation values the input of those with disabilities. The views of the group are regularly sought on various access issues both at a local and national level.

The City of London Access Group is made up of volunteers, most of who have a disability and live, work or regularly visit the City.

Members of the Group give their time freely to provide personal input on access to the built environment. They meet bi-monthly to discuss national and local access issues as well as news, updated legislation, publications and events that affect disabled people. There is usually a speaker at each meeting giving a presentation on a topical issue to the Group.

We welcome the input of new members and their experiences both good and bad. If you are interested in joining the group, contact the Access Team who will arrange for you to attend a meeting. Alternatively, you can complete the membership form (424KB) and email it or post it back to:
