Private properties with bin storage

Your waste is collected daily, Monday to Friday

Residents living within privately managed blocks of flats with a bin store or refuse chamber, should use the facilities provided for disposing of their waste.

Private properties without bin storage

A kerbside collection is provided for residents who do not have a bin store or refuse chamber.

The City of London provides household waste sacks, which are white with a red stripe, to those residents using a kerbside collection. These sacks are for rubbish that cannot be recycled.

Please tie your sack and place it on the street between 6.30pm and 7.30pm, Monday to Saturday. This is in order to comply with the City of London's Time Banding scheme. For further information about Time Banding please see the Time Banding page. If the specified waste and recycling presentation time is missed, your bags must be stored off the street until the next scheduled collection. Please note, there are no collections on Sundays or Bank Holidays.

Sacks are delivered every six months. To order sacks between deliveries, please call 020 7606 3110.

Your responsibility

You must only use the sacks provided by the City of London for your refuse and recycling. Please do not put any other sack, e.g. black sacks or plastic carrier bags, on the street.

You must only put your sacks on the street for collection on the days and at the times set out above.

If you do not comply with these requirements you could be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice of up to £60. Call your local Street Environment Officer to talk about waste collection or street cleansing, on 020 7606 3110 or use the online form.
