Helping London respond effectively to alcohol and drug problems

By exploring the challenges that local partnerships face when seeking to improve services for those affected by drugs and alcohol the LDAPF

  • supports local partnerships and promotes good practice
  • seeks to influence policy development and implementation
  • provides a range of materials about drugs and alcohol and runs campaigns, such as drug driving
  • organises seminars and conferences

The LDAPF aims to

  • enhance communication between London boroughs, public health, law enforcement and other organisations on drug policy
  • raise awareness amongst key decision makers including elected members and chief officers
  • identify and disseminate examples of good practice in all key areas of policy, including drugs education, prevention, treatment and community safety
  • provide London boroughs with a voice with which to speak on drug and alcohol issues
  • encourage multi-agency working to address complex problems associated with drugs and alcohol and share skills and information and make best use of resources
  • assist London boroughs to respond to government initiatives and legislation related to substance misuse

The Forum is a unique body funded by the City of London Corporation as part of its commitment to the wellbeing of the capital and the nation and works closely with a number of partners both nationally and internationally.
