Coronavirus (COVID-19) - updated 8 January 2021

Due to the ongoing Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and social distancing measures in the UK, we encourage anyone seeking housing advice or homelessness services to contact us by self-referral, email or phone in the first instance. We will not be offering appointments at the Guildhall until further notice.

If you can't find somewhere to live and require homelessness assistance, we will carry out a full housing assessment and discuss your current housing situation over the phone. We will arrange a suitable time to do this during normal working hours. To arrange a phone assessment or for more information about making a homeless application and your housing options, please get in touch by emailing the Homelessness Team, or by phone: 0207 332 1804.

During this time, you can also begin your assessment by submitting a self-referral. All referrals are received by the Homelessness Team. After you have submitted a referral, an Advice and Homelessness Officer will triage your referral and contact you to discuss your housing options.

You can submit a self-referral through Housing Jigsaw.

Please note: The City of London is also known as the 'Square Mile' and is not the Greater London Authority.

If you have an emergency outside of normal office hours where you feel that you are being threatened or that you are at risk of violence, please call the police in the first instance using 999 or 101.

No First Night Out is an innovative service designed to prevent people from sleeping rough for the first time by helping them access sustainable, appropriate accommodation. It is a cross-borough project run jointly by the City of London and Tower Hamlets, and prior to April 2019 also supported people in Hackney. Speak to the Advice and Homelessness Officer to find out if you are eligible.
