An introduction into Estate Services

In 2018 the City of London housing division commissioned a review of its cleaning and grounds maintenance services. This estates services review helped provide an overview and greater understanding of how we as a social housing provider compared to our peers. The result of this review helped prompt the division in creating a project focused on introducing a host of improvements in this key area of service provision. Some of the improvements that are already being introduced are:

A new set of Estate Services Standards

A standards document has been designed to provide clear and easy to use guidance on how to assess the standard of our estates. This assists in measuring how the areas are being maintained and provides structure for those maintaining them.

A new electronic inspection system

By providing our estate supervisors with a suitable tool to carry out inspections on the estates we can ensure the standards are continuously maintained and evidenced. This evidence can then be monitored, analysed and reported on. Reports will be available each month.

In the near future we aim to continue introducing more improvements to all aspects of the Estate Services. Updates and news items will be posted and available on this webpage.
