It's illegal to drop cigarette butts on the ground. Find out how you can avoid a fine and get help to stop smoking.
We aim to exceed the high standards people expect of our waste and cleansing services whether they work, visit or live in the City.
If you're a business or resident in the City we can help you deal with your waste responsibly. Businesses should read more about the City's Time Banding scheme, which helps to keep the City clear of rubbish bags during office hours. Businesses that are actively helping us to keep the City clean and deal with their waste responsibly can enter the Clean City Awards.
Our Street Environment Officers can fine you if you drop litter, including cigarette butts. Cigarette bins are widely available around the city to dispose of your cigarette. Find out how you can reduce the litter and give up smoking.
Remember, you can help us to maintain a high standard by reporting any cleansing issues that you see when you're out and about.
