TfL Red Route enforcement

Transport for London Road Traffic Enforcement Officers

TfL Road Traffic Enforcement Officers

From 1 April 2018 Transport for London (TfL) Road Traffic Enforcement Officers (RTEOs) will issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) to vehicles parked in contravention of the TfL Road Network (TLRN) regulations.

RTEOs have a distinct uniform (see photograph) and officers carry ID.

Streets affected are:

  • Bishopsgate
  • Blackfriars Bridge
  • Byward Street
  • Farringdon Street
  • Goodmans Yard
  • Gracechurch Street
  • King William Street (part)
  • London Bridge
  • Lower and Upper Thames Streets
  • Mansell Street
  • Minories
  • New Bridge Street
  • Norton Foldgate
  • Queen Victoria Street (from New Bridge Street to Blackfriars Street)
  • Victoria Embankment

Call TfL on 0343 222 1234 for TLRN parking queries.

The change applies only to the TLRN. Parking and traffic enforcement on other City of London streets is unchanged and the City's Civil Enforcement Officers (CEOs) will continue to carry out this function.

TfL’s parking enforcement policies are aimed at discharging the Mayor of London’s powers and responsibilities under the GLA Act 1999 and Traffic Management Act 2004 - Network Management Duties, that is to encourage compliance with traffic regulations; contribute to improved journey times; reliability and smooth traffic flows; reduction of congestion on TfL’s road network.
