Commuters walking in the City

Walking in the City

The City of London has a huge network of gardens, churchyards, parks and planted areas across the City that are pleasant to walk in and can be explored on foot. Walking is enjoyable, great for our health and wellbeing, reduces congestion and is part of the solution to improving our air quality, which is why we need to do more of it!

There are many ways to walk more in the Square Mile:

  • Visit our Walks page and take advantage of led walks and guided tours.
  • Explore and make maps available to your employees, friends and visitors. Transport for London’s maps of walking times between tube stations are a great example!
  • Join the Active City Network and get advice to getting more people walking at your workplace.
