The operations manager at the Aldgate Bus Station has reported that since the Aldgate gyratory was removed in October 2015 and Aldgate High Street reverted to two way traffic, the number of vehicles turning in the bus station has increased. Access to the bus station is for buses and authorised vehicles only and the junction with Aldgate High Street is for vehicles to exit only. Vehicles entering from Aldgate High Street risk a collision with a bus particularly if they continue through to Minories where buses enter and there is a blind corner.

The existing one way system through the bus station is not enforceable as it is not public highway. The City of London proposes to ban vehicles from turning into the bus station from Aldgate High Street which will allow enforcement to take place.
