We are transforming the gardens area to provide an appropriate setting for the historic London Wall.

The upper garden area is now partially open, including a full pedestrian route through the site. Minor elements of final works, such as installation of wooden seating and planting, will take place over the next few weeks.

The lower garden area will remain closed while we finish installing the handrails to the staircase.

The scheme design(740KB) included

  • provision of a level access to lower garden from Salters' Gardens
  • new seating and planting areas
  • new trees and shade tolerant greenery
  • new lighting to accentuate / highlight local heritage, including the surviving sections of the Roman London Wall
