The City of London is delivering a new public square in Mitre Square. The existing empty, cobbled square is being replaced with a high quality space that will introduce significant amounts of new greenery, plenty of seating and level access throughout.

Scheme design (680KB)

The works to the square are due to be completed by the end of November 2017. Pedestrian access through the square will be maintained at all times, but access to vehicles will be permanently removed (except for service vehicles accessing the school playground).

A new permitting system for parents dropping off and picking up children has now been implemented, which involves using specific areas on Mitre Street to park temporarily. The previous paper permits will be phased out gradually over the coming months. Requests for new permits should be made to Sir John Cass's Foundation school directly.
