The City of London has developed landscapes proposals for Monument Yard, Fish Street Hill, Pudding Lane and the junction of Monument and Lower Thames streets.

Scheme design for Monument Yard, Fish Street Hill and Pudding Lane (465KB)

The scheme will deliver public realm enhancements around The Monument, providing a new timber seats and granite stone benches, semi-matured trees and improved lighting.

The main construction works around 11-19 Monument Street have now been completed and we will install additional street furniture in coming months. The work phases (265KB) may be subject to change and we will update this page if the dates are altered.

The works at the junction of Monument and Lower Thames streets are scheduled to start in July 2018.

We will be publishing regular ebulletin during the works, providing updates on progress and giving advanced notice of road closures and other temporary arrangements. You can sign up to receive these updates via email. If you have any queries about the project, please email

If you have any concerns regarding day-to-day construction management please contact the Corporation's term contractor JB Riney:
