Monument Street area

Enhanced pedestrian area

The City of London has developed proposals to improve the public realm in Monument Yard, Fish Street Hill, Pudding Lane and the junction of Monument and Lower Thames streets.

The main improvement works around the Monument have been completed, including raising the paving and installation of new timber seats and granite stone benches, semi-matured trees and improved lighting.

The works at the junction of Monument and Lower Thames streets are currently underway and are expected to be completed before April 2019. The improvements will deliver additional trees, new planters, an enhanced planting schedule, seating and resurfacing the area in a porous robust, robust material.
