Middlesex Street and Petticoat Lane Market

Petticoat Lane Market

The City of London Corporation is working with the London Borough of Tower Hamlets to deliver a comprehensive package of improvements to Petticoat Lane Market, one of London's iconic markets and the adjacent Middlesex Street area, including:

  • Operations of the market (eg types of stall rig, trader parking, hours, cleansing regime)
  • Facilities for the market and its customers (electricity and water supply for the stalls, public toilets, seating)
  • Public realm works along the street (greening, planting, wayfinding and public art)

Following approval, the project team initiated the design stage to progress the public realm concepts.

There will be opportunities for local residents, traders and businesses to engage with the project team in developing this work.
