Fishmongers' Wharf access improvements

Proposal for Fishmongers' Wharf access improvements

This project forms a key part of Riverside Walk Enhancement Strategy, aiming to create a better connected, accessible walkway and a destination for people to enjoy.

The steps at Fishmongers' Wharf are the only inaccessible section of the walkway.

The installation of a new ramp will create a fully accessible riverside walkway with enhanced lighting. The works involve forming a slope along Fishmonger's Wharf to provide step-free access, together with new railings and gate, enhanced lighting and re-configuring the existing steps.

The works will take place during the following hours:

  • Monday to Friday – 8am to 4.30pm with no noisy work taking place between the hours of 10am to 12noon and 2pm to 4pm. When required, works may last up to 6pm and this will be communicated in advance via email bulletin.
  • Saturday – 8am to 1pm (up to 6pm when required and in agreement wit hthe City Environmental Health Officer)

The works started on 30 January and are scheduled to finish in May 2017.

Every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum. However, if you have any concerns regarding day-to-day construction management please contact the City's term contractor J.B. Riney:
