City of London Cemetery Gate picture

The City of London Cemetery and Crematorium consists of 200 acres of stunning green space and gardens. In order to continue to keep our grounds looking as beautiful in the future, the City of London Cemetery is planning to introduce a volunteering scheme. This will be a great opportunity for anyone who wishes to be involved in the development and delivery of education and guided walks within the Cemetery grounds.

If you are interested in volunteering at any of the other City of London Open Spaces please explore the rest of the open spaces section, or our neighbouring open space: Epping Forest's Volunteering page.

Friends group

The City of London Cemetery and Crematorium is a beautiful green landscape which is rich in architecture, ecology, geology, horticulture and history. In order to help maintain the service that the cemetery provides we are looking to form a friends group.

A friends group is usually made up of residents who have got together because they have a particular interest in the cemetery or green space. The aims of a friends group are to support the cemetery through working in partnership with us to achieve the following:

  • To ensure the cemetery is better used by the local community
  • To provide information to the local community about the cemetery
  • To look at strategies for improved maintenance of the cemetery
  • To identify resources for specific improvements to the cemetery
  • To help organise, events or activities for the cemetery’s visitors

If you are interested in joining our friends group or volunteering at the cemetery then please send your name and contact details to:

The City of London Cemetery and Crematorium
Aldersbrook Road
Manor Park
E12 5DQ

Alternatively, if you would like to discuss these opportunities with a member of our team, please call 020 8530 2151 or email the Cremation Team.
