Kenley Heritage Trail

Opening of the Kenley Heritage Trail


English Heritage identifies Kenley Airfield as "the most complete fighter airfield associated with the Battle of Britain to have survived". Six history boards explain its importance and the role played by pilots, ground crew and local people during the two World Wars. 

The throb of aero engines is rarely heard here now, their place taken by gliders that circle silently overhead - look to the skies!
