The City of London Corporation and London Borough of Islington are working together to bid for funding to the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to restore and conserve Bunhill Fields Bunhill Ground. If successful in receiving HLF grant funding, the project will aim to conserve memorials, restore the Grade 1 designed landscape and transform the buildings on site into a high-quality space for public benefit.

The project will allow everyone in the community to enjoy Bunhill Field's history, heritage and wildlife along with events and volunteering opportunities. As well as the physical transformation, a major part of the restoration project involves introducing new events, services and educational programmes that will allow even more City and Islington residents to get involved with the public space in the future.

We have now appointed consultants to start feasibility studies for the site.

Have your say

An initial public consultation took place in May and June 2018 to help develop the proposals for the HLF bid.

We welcome any further comments or suggestions on the project at any time.
