Adults making mosaic artworks at an Epping Forest adult learning event.

Our events are great fun for grown-ups too!

Epping Forest is a hub for learning for all ages, and we host a variety of events all year round that are specifically for adults.

Regular events

We host regular art and history exhibitions at our visitor centres, as well as a host of guided walks and bike rides through Epping Forest and Wanstead Park to look at wildlife, ecology and the history of the land.

Please see our events page for full listings.

Guided tours

We offer private guided tours for groups of 10 to 25 people. Each tour is 45 minutes long. There is a minimum charge of £50 per session. This will cover you for the first 10 people in your group. Any additional people up to 25, are charged at £4.95 per head.

Your confirmed tour booking guarantees your use of the Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge, which may otherwise be closed to the public for use with school groups or private venue hire. We reserve the right to charge for cancellations within two weeks of your confirmed tour.

Tour options

We offer tours of Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge or The View, or a tour that combines both buildings. We can also include a short introductory guided walk in the Forest in adjacent Barn Hoppitt, an area of outstanding wood-pasture which includes some of the most significant ancient pollarded oaks in the Forest. If you are interested in our guided walk or tour services for longer than our 45 minutes standard tour, please contact us to discuss charges and options.

If your group would like to book the View Community Room for a period of up to two hours for a picnic, or just to sit down and chat before or after your tour, please complete a Community Room booking form (154 KB).

How to book

Please email Sophie Lillington with the name of your group, contact details of the organiser, your preferred tour option and planned date so that we may check availability. If you are booking the Community Room as well, please confirm that in your email so that we can co-ordinate the bookings.

Access

Please refer to our access statements to find out more about accessibility issues in the Hunting Lodge and The View. If you have any further queries, please telephone 020 8529 7090 or email Sophie Lillington.
