Ambresbury Bank is one of two Iron Age earthworks in Epping Forest and is a Scheduled Monument - the other is nearby Loughton Camp. Ambresbury Bank is thought to have been built around 500 BC and, occupying one of the highest points in the Forest, is thought to have been a hill fort.

Long Running is an open area of former heathland and runs alongside the camp for half a mile. It's often covered with heather, sedge and purple moorgrass and makes for a pleasant walk on sunny days.
