Blackweir Hill is not an accessible area of Forest. Its car parks are uneven, non-paved surfaces and lack disabled bays. The area itself has unmade paths and trails only, with some steep slopes; and the area can be muddy.

Blackweir Hill is a span of woodland near Loughton and is home to a number of scenic ponds including Blackweir Pond, Baldwin's Pond and Golding's Hill Pond.

Blackweir Pond is perhaps better known as the 'Lost Pond', a moniker given by James Brimble, and is often considered Epping Forest's most picturesque and tranquil - a perfect spot for fishing or quiet contemplation.
