Sports

Hampstead Heath provides excellent facilities for organised sport. With a lack of open space in surrounding densely populated boroughs, Hampstead Heath has a crucial role to play in providing sporting opportunities and promoting good health.

Activities for children

The Heath itself is a great place to play and there are also eight distinct children's play areas on Hampstead Heath.

Bowls and Croquet

The Parliament Hill Bowling Green is open to members and the general public from April to September.

Fees are set by the Parliament Hill Bowling Club and Parliament Hill Croquet Club.

Car parking

​Hampstead Heath operates a number of car parks, charges for which are as follows:

Croquet

​Two half-size croquet lawns are available for use in Golders Hill Park in the summer months.

Fees are set by the Hampstead Hill Croquet Club at:

The 19th Heath Duathlon took place on Sunday 3 September and was a huge success with the same superb turnout it's enjoyed in previous years.

Orienteering

​The Hampstead Heath orienteering course ranges all over the Heath and can be adapted for different levels of difficulty. There is also a course at Golders Hill Park which is especially suitable for young people.

Orienteering maps and information can be downloaded from the London Orienteering Klubb website.

Putting

​A putting green is available from May to September at Golders Hill Park.

Lost or damaged putters and balls will be charged to the user at cost, plus an administration fee.

Running

Running is a great way to get fit and very popular on Hampstead Heath.

There are several suggested running routes marked on the Hampstead Heath Map (2MB) varying between 2km and 5km in length.
