From the Ornamental Gardens to the playground and paddling pool, sports pitches and wildlife, there really is something for everyone. ​​

Opening / closing times

​The park opens every day at 7.30am and closes at dusk (when it's almost dark but before nightfall).

We notify all visitors that the park will be closing shortly by checking all areas of the site.

You may hear a whistle and there will be a gate open for you to exit the site.

Getting to us

We can easily be reached by public transport or on foot. For the most up to date travel you could use the Transport for London journey planner. There is no parking available.

By tube

Accessibility

​There are seven pedestrian entrances to the park, all of which are wheelchair accessible and can be found on the map of West Ham​ Park (230KB).

Facilities

​West Ham Park offers a wide range of facilities. There is a large supervised children's playground, a wildlife education garden, ponds, bandstand, sports facilities and ornamental gardens.

Playground 

Our ever popular playground has something to offer children of all ages and abilities; equipment for swinging, balancing, spinning and jumping from. The playground has a wheelchair accessible play mound with double embankment slide, roundabout and swing. The ability swing is unlocked on demand during opening hours and needs to be supervised. The playground closes each day 30 minutes before the park closes or at 8pm in May, June and July.  

Paddling pool

The paddling pool is open seasonally from the last May bank holiday until the end of August from 12pm - 5pm. There is no charge to use the pool and age restrictions and adult supervision apply. 

Refreshments (seasonal)

Our ice cream van is located outside the playground offering ice cream, freshly brewed coffee, home made cake, hot and cold drinks and snacks. The Snack Shack can be found near the bandstand. It offers hot bacon rolls, burgers, hot dogs, chips, sandwiches and more.  The Snack Shack is open at weekends from 10.30am and school holidays from 12.30pm.

Toilets

Four toilet blocks are located by the playground with one radar operated disabled toilet. Baby changing facilities are also available.

Dog control

​The park welcomes responsible dog owners. The following Dog Control Orders apply for West Ham Park and are displayed throughout the park.  

  • It is compulsory for dog owners to clear up after their dog. Dog bins are provided.
  • When requested, dogs are placed on leads in open areas.  
  • No dogs allowed within the fenced boundary of the playground, tennis courts, bandstand and enclosed wildlife gardens. 
  • The number of dogs a person may take out in public is four.
  • Dogs are to be on leads at all times in the fenced boundary of the Formal Gardens. 
  • Any breach of an order will result in a £75 fixed penalty notice issued by Newham officers.

Byelaws

​The Park is protected by byelaws. The West Ham Park byelaws (35KB) are displayed on the back of the notice boards at park entrances.
