  • Notes: The brooch was made in Rome to Joseph Severn's design, c.1822. The design is a replica of the lyre on Keats’s headstone (erected in 1828) - the lyre is strung with the hair of Keats. It was intended as a gift for Fanny Brawne. In 1861 Severn gave it to his daughter as a wedding present.
