London Metropolitan Archives (LMA) has a rich and diverse range of images, films and maps within its collections, dating from at least the fifteenth century to the present day.
Many of the maps, prints, paintings, photographs and films in our collection (over 150,000) are available to view on Collage - the London Picture Archive. This is our online database of images where you can research and get copies of images.
A selection of our photographs can also be seen on Historypin.
LMA has a large collection of maps, from the Agas map of 1561 to the present day. Although many of these maps area available to see on Collage, many more are available to view at LMA in person, either through our Magnifying the Metropolis section in our Mediatheque area, or of course by looking at the originals.
We hold a large collection of film material, and are continually digitising these to make them more readily available. A large selection of them is already available on our YouTube channel. More films area available to view in the Mediatheque area at LMA.
If you're interested in film, you might like to come to our monthly film club - you can check our listings on Eventbrite for the latest news.
