Based on current Government advice on Coronavirus/Covid-19, we regret to inform you that Guildhall Art Gallery and London's Roman Amphitheatre will be closed to the public until further notice.

Visit Guildhall Art Gallery and London's Roman Amphitheatre to enjoy specially designed family activities. Activities are free and do not require booking unless stated.


Second Saturday Family Activities

On the second Saturday of the month, join Guildhall Art Gallery for themed family activities. A revolving programme may have you creating arts and crafts based on the Victorian paintings that surround you or heading to the Roman Amphitheatre to handle 2000-year-old artefacts.

We also have a story corner; get comfy on a beanbag and dip into our book collection to find out all about the world of art, the Victorians, the Romans, and London.

Roman London Family Quest

Can you complete the Roman London Quest and hunt down the parts of Roman London that can still be seen in City of London today? Join us for an exciting family day, going back in time to experience the city in the year AD 240 by visiting three unique Roman sites. Discover London’s Roman Amphitheatre, pay your respects at the Temple of Mithras and relax back at Billingsgate Roman House and Baths. Follow the fact-filled walking map and visit the three sites in any order you choose, completing fun activities at each location to complete the quest and claim your prize.

Pick up our free Art Detective Kits from the Welcome Desk. Become a Guildhall Gallery explorer, make detective dice to discover the story behind any artwork, use the torch to hunt for clues, and collect evidence of what you see.
