    Discarded designs and rejected plans lurk behind every important building in London. Sometimes serious considerations, sometimes fanciful exercises into the art of the possible, they imagine a city where a crystal Tower Bridge is clad in glass and a colossal burial pyramid looms over Primrose Hill. The London That Never Was explores the collections at the London Metropolitan Archives to present plans and drawings of some of the most intriguing proposals that never made it off the drawing board.     Medieval St Paul’s Cathedral was probably the largest building in Britain. Wren’s cathedral lies on top of it, but parts of the medieval building still exist underground. Join Cathedral archaeologist John Schofield to discover this previously hidden history from 1100 to the Great Fire. This talk is part of Guildhall Art Gallery’s exhibition, Architecture of London.     Join Dr Jane Sidell, Inspector of Ancient Monuments for Historic England, on a tour of medieval bastions and Roman walls. With rare access to the remains of Cripplegate Roman Fort, it also takes in St Alphage Roman Wall and the Tower of St Mary Elsyng Spital at London Wall Place where the tour ends.     To celebrate the 200th birthday of Joseph Bazalgette (the inventor of London’s sewers), Bureau Of Silly Ideas will be playing with water, smells, pipes and sewers throughout the summer, finishing with a ‘seweriffic’ September spectacular.   10. sheep by london bridge 29 SEP - The Worshipful Company of Woolmen's Charity Sheep Drive and Livery Fair
    Watch Freemen of the City (some in colourful ceremonial City robes or fancy dress) exercise their ancient right to drive sheep over London Bridge and enjoy the Fair’s crafts, activities and food. Drives start at 10am with a celebrity guest and the Lord Mayor of London and Sheriffs in full regalia.
