Bring your little (and big) ones for free Roman-inspired family activities in the majestic surrounds of Guildhall Yard and London’s Roman Amphitheatre where there’ll be plenty to keep young centurions, budding Ciceros, Lara Crofts or Indiana Joneses entertained.

There are events for adults too, including a 12 week mosaic workshop and a new display featuring David Roberts' The Forum.

    David Roberts’ painting The Forum, Rome forms the centrepiece of a new display in Guildhall art gallery which explores why the forum was so important in the Roman world, how it would have looked, and what exactly happened there. The display also examines the painting in the context of Roberts’ Roman series, his wider work, and depictions of the Grand Tour by other artists. When: Mon-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 12noon-4pm. FREE.   3. Mosaic workshop 2 SEPTEMBER - 14 OCTOBER - Roman Mosaics Workshop
    2 SEPTEMBER - 14 OCTOBER - Be inspired by the incredible mosaic creations of the Romans and create your own to take home during a seven-week workshop programme. These workshops will teach participants about Roman mosaic-making, especially those created in Londinium, and adopt traditional mosaic making methods to enable you to fashion your own creation.
