Demolition notice

If you propose to demolish a building in the City of London, Section 80 of the Building Act 1984 requires you to send us a demolition notice. Please complete the form below and email a site plan and a detailed method statement to the District Surveyor's Office.

Our charge for administering a Demolition Notice is £500.00 (No VAT) per building or part thereof.

Guidance is also available in the Department of Markets and Consumer Protection's Code of Practice for Deconstruction and Construction Sites. The code sets out acceptable site practice for construction and demolition in the City of London. It also contains contact details and the forms you need to submit before you start demolition.
