Business in the Community has partnered with Public Health England to produce a free, online toolkit to help every organisation support the mental health and wellbeing of its employees. It will help employers take positive actions to build a culture that champions good mental health and provides a greater understanding of how to help those who need more support.

The Mental Health toolkit will help employers pick out the most valuable resources and to develop an approach that works. For larger organisations, the toolkit is also a useful resource to share with businesses in their supply chain and across their network.

Good musculoskeletal health is integral to a full working life. It provides us with functional mobility and dexterity, balance and co-ordinance, and contributes to muscular strength and survival ; essential to nearly all forms of work. The Musculoskeletal Health toolkit is a simple step by step resource for helping employers deal with back, neck, muscle and joint pain at work. It will help you pick out the best free resources that are right for you and your team, whatever the size of your organisation.

In England a person dies by suicide every 107 minutes, but suicide isn’t inevitable and together we can play a part in preventing it.

The Suicide Prevention toolkit is designed to help organisations adopt a strategy to reduce the risk of a suicide that will have an impact on the workplace. In this context, the term ‘workplace suicide’ is understood to be a suicide in or outside the workplace, which may involve an employee or contractor, or a family member or close friend of an employee or contractor.

Small and medium enterprises in particular can be disproportionately affected by the loss of key staff for any period of time because of illness, or when they are unable to perform to the best of their ability because of fatigue. So, helping employees to maintain healthy sleep patterns and to recover fully after a period of sleep deprivation, is of vital importance.

​The Sleep and Recovery toolkit provides practical information for all employers (small, medium and large) on how you can create an environment where employees understand the importance of sleep and recovery and are able to make healthier choices at work and at home.

The Physical Activity, Healthy Eating and Healthier Weight toolkit provides practical, evidence-based guidance on how employers can support their employees to improve the health of their workforce and improve the health of their business through reduced sickness absence and increased productivity.
