Free Wi-Fi is available in all our libraries. Simply connect to City Public and accept the terms and conditions - no need for any password.

You are also welcome to use laptops and other mobile devices in our libraries and some dedicated sockets are provided for such use.

Our computers are available free of charge, for members and non-members and provide internet access, printing, and Microsoft Office. Turn up on the day or book up to 24 hours in advance by telephone.

All public computer terminals are shut down 15 minutes before the library closing time.

Printing, copying and scanning facilities are available but we are currently setting up a new print service, and as of 8 June we can only take card payment - not cash. You can find out more about these changes on the library catalogue page.

Prices for printing and photocopying (from 8 September 2025):

  • 15p per black and white A4 side
  • 30p per black and white A3 side
  • 75p per colour A4 side
  • £1.50 per colour A3 side
  • Scanning is free

Age UK City of London Drop-Ins

Now and again, everyone needs a little bit of help with their tech. We offer a free drop-in support service at Barbican Library, every Tuesday evening 5.30pm - 7pm.

Whether you’re confused about updates, anxious about scams or want to know how to get the best out of your battery, our expert volunteers can help. Simply ask for us at the front desk when you come in.

Bring your phone, laptop, or tablet along and don’t forget to charge it before you come. Complete beginners welcome. At busy times you may need to wait to be seen. Tea, coffee, and biscuits are available.

NB Age UK drop-ins are taking a break over the Christmas period - there will be no sessions on 23 or 30 December 2025)
