Historic open spaces

Date updated: 14/10/2022

The City of London has four historic parks or gardens on Historic England's National Heritage List for England, Inner and Middle Temple, Finsbury Circus and the Barbican.

The Open Space Strategy is a Supplementary Planning Document which sets out how we protect and enhance the gardens in the City and create more spaces. It guides the management and planning of open spaces.

Use the City's interactive map to find the City's open spaces.
