Temple Avenue Public Realm Improvements
Improving Temple Avenue
The City of London Corporation is proposing improvements to enhance the street environment of Temple Avenue, making it more welcoming, accessible and enjoyable for people walking, wheeling and cycling.
We’re planning to transform the southern section of Temple Avenue (between Tallis Street and Victoria Embankment) into a vibrant new public space that will include:
- Greener surroundings with trees and planters.
- Improved accessibility with more space to walk and spend time.
- Relocated parking bays in the local area, maintaining the current parking provision in close proximity to the site.
The proposals do not change vehicle access into the area. The existing cycle only access from the Embankment to Temple Avenue will be retained, and we're looking at design options to support two-way cycle movement through the space.
A consultation on the proposals for Temple Ave took place in November 2025 and is now closed. We are now analysing responses and will provide further project updates once available in early 2026.
