Fenchurch Street Area Healthy Streets Plan
Improving the streets and public spaces in the Fenchurch Street area
The City of London Corporation has produced a Healthy Streets Plan to provide a framework for improvements to the streets and spaces in the area between Fenchurch Street and Lower Thames Street. The plan was approved by the City Corporation in February 2026 and sets out proposals to make the Fenchurch Street area more accessible, engaging and provide safer places for people to walk, wheel, cycle and spend time in.
Individual projects will be developed from the Fenchurch Street Area Healthy Streets Plan as funding becomes available, at which point there will be more opportunities for engagement and consultation.

What is a Healthy Street approach?
Healthy Streets is an approach adopted by many London authorities to help create a vibrant, successful city where people can live active, healthy lives. It is a system of policies and strategies to help Londoners use cars less and walk, cycle, and use public transport more. It aims to create streets that feel pleasant, safe, and attractive and identify the barriers to movement that restrict the community, particularly the most vulnerable.
