Event licences

Epping Forest makes a superb venue for all kinds of events, from guided walks and outdoor yoga to fun fairs and concerts.

Why we require licences

Licensing is part of how we regulate events to make sure the Forest's conservation needs are considered, as well as the needs of visitors, nearby residents and other stakeholders. The process also ensures that events meet our health and safety requirements and other standards we're held to as an organisation. Thank you for your understanding.

Small guided walks and tours

If you're planning a small guided walk or tour in the Forest, please use these fees. If you have in excess of 100 participants, please see our event fees.

You'll need to pay a non-refundable deposit of 25% of the base fee when you make your application, and a refundable deposit of £500 or 20% of the base fee too.

There is also a £66 administration fee for all applications, or £33 if you prove you are a non-profit organisation.

Please note we do not licence competitive speed cycle races.

Car park hiring fees are based on an 8 hour day.

Cancellations

If you need to cancel your event, contact us and we'll refund all or part of your fee depending on how big your event was and how much notice you give us. 

We always recommend taking out event insurance in case you need to cancel.

Applying for your licence

To apply, complete an application form and email it to Epping Forest.

You must apply for your licence between 3 weeks and 12 months ahead of your event depending on how big it is. If you're not sure how much time you need to give us, just ask and we can let you know.
