Donation Plaques
Support the Forest and have your donation marked with a plaque. Celebrate a part of Epping Forest you enjoy, mark a special occasion or remember a loved one.

How do you find a location for your plaque?
Visit the mapping tool to search for available locations. The locations are shown by green circles. Click on one and then select 'express your interest' to send an email to the Epping Forest team.
We will then be in touch to confirm the location, discuss the wording you'd like on the plaque and take your donation.

What's the minimum donation?
Any donation to Epping Forest of £2580 or greater is eligible for a plaque. Once a location is available and agreed, a plaque will be installed and maintained for a period of 10 years.
Every donation helps us preserve the Forest landscape now and for future generations.
What can I have on my plaque?
To mark your donation, an inscribed 250mm x 75mm stainless steel plaque will be affixed to forest furniture, such as a bench, seat or table at your selected location.
The inscription can be up to a maximum of 250 characters and spaces, on four rows. Epping Forest retains the right to agree acceptable final wording.

When will the plaque be displayed?
It can take up to eight weeks for the plaque to be ordered, made and installed. We'll be in touch when the plaque is ready for you to visit.
What if your preferred location is taken?
Explore the map to consider other nearby locations.
All locations for plaques are carefully assessed to protect the Forest. Due to this, most suggested locations are found not to be appropriate.
If you would like to suggest an area for a plaque, bench or other forest furniture, you can do so via the location form.
FAQs
Across the Forest from Wanstead in the south to Epping in the north on both Forest and Buffer Land. Consult the donation plaque map to see which locations are available.
Initially our Estates Team will determine whether any new Forest Furniture is required on which to affix the plaque. Where an appropriate bench, seat, or table is absent or deemed in need of replacing, one will be installed. Every effort will be made to maintain and prolong the life of existing furniture in line with our sustainability goals.
During the 10-year sponsorship period the plaque will receive an annual inspection as part of our standard programme. In the event of the plaque, or the furniture to which it is affixed, being damaged or vandalised beyond serviceable use, we will cover the cost of one full replacement per sponsorship period.
If vandalism or anti-social behaviour continues, we reserve the right to relocate the plaque to an alternative location. The Forest is a dynamic landscape which requires ongoing management. This may alter the vegetation and surroundings of any location. We do not guarantee the landscape setting of the plaque will remain as it was at installation.
From time-to-time, we may need to contact you with information regarding your plaque, such as temporary removal for maintenance. We reserve the right to limit access during management works.
We will attempt to contact you via the most recent contact information we hold for you. It is the responsibility of the Plaque Sponsor to update Epping Forest of changes to contact information e.g. email address, phone number and postal address.
Sponsorship of a plaque does not confer ownership of the plaque, bench, or any associated property.
Additional items such as flowers, photographs, balloons, ornaments or other memorabilia are not permitted and will be removed. This protects the Forest’s ecology and ensures the safety and enjoyment of all visitors. Non-native plants and organic materials can introduce pests and harmful diseases. Other objects may pose hazards to wildlife or obstruct access.
Epping Forest is a protected landscape, and maintaining its character is a core part of its management. Persistent breaches of this condition will result in the removal of the plaque.
Once installed, plaque locations can’t be changed, so please choose wisely. Plaques can be installed at additional locations to mark further donations.
After the 10-year period comes to an ends, we will attempt to contact you on the contact details you have provided. You may be offered the option to allow your sponsorship to lapse or to make a further donation to renew your donation plaque for a further 10 years.
Epping Forest's 6000 acres are managed by a charitable trust run at little or no cost to the communities it serves. The Forest contains important wildlife habitats, unique heritage and is a vital green space for millions of people. Thank you for choosing to give back to the Forest.
